Catastrophic benefit claims and non-catastrophic claims differ. The main difference is that the amount of the benefit and the time for which you are entitled to the benefit is generally more for catastrophic benefits. To be classified as catastrophic, you have to meet a certain set of tests that are defined in our legislation. It can be a combination of disability, mental, physical and emotional. Non-catastrophic benefits does entitle you to the same type of benefits but generally the time for which you’re entitled is less.
