For nearly 15 years, SBMB Law has been helping clients who have suffered personal injury. Slip and fall accidents unfortunately can be quite common and also quite traumatic depending on the type of injury you have suffered; here are some tips that will help you following a slip and fall. First, you or someone with you at the time of the fall should take several pictures of the area where you fell to try and show the hazard that caused you to fall. An example may be ice on a sidewalk or on private property or liquid that is spilled somewhere that shouldn’t be there.
The second tip is, seek immediate medical attention. This will not only document the injuries you have suffered but will help you in your recovery process. The third tip is, be mindful of where you fell. There are some places that require you to give notice within 10 days of your slip and fall if you wish to bring forward a claim, this is typically when it involves a city or municipality. Lastly, make sure that you do keep the shoes or boots that you were wearing at the time of your fall as this becomes important information in any claim that you may start.
