Ron Bohm

Ron Bohm is the Senior Litigation Partner of SBMB Law. He was called to the bar in 1986 and has recently received dual certification by the Law Society as a specialist in Civil Litigation and Health Law (medical malpractice). Ron also has a long history of assisting clients with estate litigation, such as representing those wrongfully excluded from a will.

Ron joined SBMB Law in 1989 after working for a well-known Bay Street insurance litigation defence firm. He has dealt with cases at all levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada and acts as counsel for other lawyers and law firms. His dedicated and positive outlook has resulted in great success for his clients. Ron has represented people in precedent-setting cases such as Maljkovich v. Maljkovich Estate in the Ontario Court of Appeal (wife-killer denied split of matrimonial home), Ionnidis v. Hawkings (the first and only trial on the issue of discoverability, extending a limitation period) and Pileggi v. Humber River Regional Hospital et al (preventing a hospital from stopping life support).

Ron is the Vice-President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. As such, he actively participates in and presents at various seminars regarding current legal issues.

Ron is an active member in the community, receiving a 15 year service award from the York Central Hospital Board of Directors in 2009, and a service recognition award from the Blue Hills Child & Family Services Foundation.
